West Virginia Stimulant Summit, December 2021
The Bureau for Behavioral Health collaborated with the Office of Drug Control Policy and BBH pilot grantee WV Behavioral Health Workforce Training Center at Marshall University in presenting the West Virginia Stimulant Summit on December 16, 2021. A total of 546 people from 16 states registered for the Summit.
The Summit showcased national and WV expertise and included perspectives from therapists, administrators, and prescribers, as well as a speaker with lived experience; additionally, there was an announcement about an upcoming Learning Collaborative and TRUST 2.0 with Dr. Rick Rawson and colleague Al Hasson anticipated for Spring 2022, to be funded in part by the Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center. The event was geared toward and offered CEUs to physicians, nurse practitioners, clinicians, therapists, case managers, peer recovery support specialists, and others who work with individuals affected by stimulant use disorders. The virtual event focused on guidance for how to address barriers to offering evidence-based practice for stimulant use disorder and improving treatment access by increasing clinical expertise.
